HOLOUD

Our Residence,
Meadows 7, Street 2, Villa 26, Emirates Hills, Dubai

Turmeric, referred to as Holoud in Bangla, is a common flavour in South Asian cooking and also a significant ingredient in the pre-wedding event known as the Holoud ceremony. Known to possess anti-inflammatory, healing, beautification, antiseptic, and purification properties, Holoud is essentially a cleansing procedure for the bride and groom to be. The beautiful mustard yellow hue represents a life of prosperity for the couple about to begin their new life together. Family and friends take turns placing a small amount of Holoud on the Bride and Groom offering their blessings while also cleansing the couple simultaneously.

SANGEET

Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club,
Port Saeed - Dubai - United Arab Emirates

Among the many pre-wedding events that occurs prior to the wedding ceremonies, the Sangeet is where the party starts. The word Sangeet translates to ‘sung together’ from Sanskrit. Unlike other traditional and religious ceremonies such as the Holoud or portions of the wedding ceremony, the Sangeet is solely conducted to relish in the happiness and joy surrounding the couple and their families.
